The red Buick Somerset in which Cady Tucker was killed at age 11, after the car was struck on August 15, 2002, by the green Ford Taurus, operated by a driver impaired by driving in violation of her driver's license restriction at the time of the head-on collision.

Welcome to our website.

I am Cady Tucker's mother, Pat Tucker.  My family and I hope that you will join our mission of making our highways safer by calling attention to the dangers of impaired driving.  Impaired driving is a consequence of poor judgment.  A driver is impaired when he or she is not fit to drive but chooses to drive anyway.

Our committee, People Against Impaired Drivers (PAID), defines impaired driving as driving under the influence of any of a myriad of reckless behaviors that compromise one's ability to drive safely.  These behaviors include driving while consuming alcohol or drugs, with labile blood sugar, while drowsy or falling asleep at the wheel, while watching a DVD-as one trucker did recently before causing a crash, and other lapses of awareness that result in reckless disregard for the safety of others.  When someone drives on the highway while impaired, the consequences can be as high as innocent people paying with their lives.
